      This novel began life as the Memoirs of Merith, the main character. It was told in the first person as that was how I visualized her. As I mentioned in my own Bio page, I had invented the character as a means of helping others survive, as such I often had to be that character (This does not mean talking in a silly voice! but it did mean thinking like her). The novel was completed in the summer of 2005 but no-one in the publishing industry was interested. 

      I began to write a new novel, this time I thought, what if Merith had been transported into her future, where would she end up? What would her experience be like, where could she go, how would that work. I began writing, but at that time my laptop was acting a bit strange. I had written about 3 to 5 thousand words, about the size of a short story when it crashed.

      I gave up on this idea but kept on thinking. What if this were to happen with the original Merith novel, could i merge the two ideas and create something new. 

Future echoes was born.

      Literally the maze is magically dark. Merith is bounced back and forth into her future like an echo. 

      Therefore Future echoes in the dark.
